What are porcelain veneers?

Hand-crafted ceramic. Designed around your face. Built to last.

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells (0.3 – 0.5 mm) of medical-grade ceramic, custom-made by a master ceramist and bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They are the most durable, most lifelike route to a complete smile redesign — and the closest cosmetic dentistry gets to a permanent transformation.

Restraint, not reinvention. Veneers should look like the smile you were always meant to have — never the smile you bought.

For Dr. Albert, veneers are about restraint, not reinvention. A digital smile preview before any tooth is touched. Minimal preparation — far less than traditional veneers. A trial smile you can wear and approve before we commit. Multi-layered ceramic, hand-finished to mimic the translucency and subtle imperfections of real enamel.

The result: a smile that's natural, enhanced, or anywhere in-between — your call. Your new smile, your way.

Before — natural teeth ready for treatment
01 Before — your starting smile
Hand-sculpted composite trial smile, test-driven before the final porcelain
02 Trial smile — sculpted by hand, test-driven for a few days
Final hand-finished porcelain veneers
03 Final porcelain — crafted to match the smile you approved

The signature step

Test-drive your smile
before the final ceramic is made.

After the minimal preparation visit, Dr. Albert hand sculpts the proposed design directly onto your prepared teeth using temporary composite. You wear it for a few days. You photograph it. You eat with it. You show your partner. You make any small adjustments you want.

You then return for a review — we discuss what you love, refine anything you'd like to change, and only when you've approved the design does the information go to our master ceramist. The porcelain veneers we craft are an enhanced replica of the smile you already test-drove and loved.

  • 01. Sculpted directly onto your prepared teeth
  • 02. Wear it home for 3–7 days
  • 03. Review session: refine shape, edges, and shade together
  • 04. Approved design sent to the lab to craft your final porcelain

Porcelain Bridge

I had an amazing experience at Smile Rooms. I love my new smile! I was worried before I booked that the final result might look unnatural, but it exceeded my expectations. Everyone is complimenting my new smile. I would highly recommend Dr Gajdos.

Porcelain Veneers, Crowns & Implants

I have never liked going to the dentist and the thought of major works on my smile really filled me with dread. But the service I received was first class, the customer service was excellent, all the way through my treatment their priority was my comfort. At no stage did I feel discomfort in any way. If you are thinking about having treatment I recommend you visit these guys.

Inside the lab

Where porcelain becomes a smile.

Every veneer in our gallery began here — hand-sculpted design by Dr. Albert and meticulously crafted by our master ceramist, layer by layer, shade by shade. Hand-finished ceramic.

Master ceramist hand-layering porcelain
01 Layered by hand Multi-shade porcelain built up tooth-by-tooth, capturing the same translucency as real enamel.
Porcelain firing in the dental kiln
02 Fired in the kiln Each veneer is fired at over 900°C — fusing pigments and glaze into one continuous piece.
Final porcelain veneer next to natural tooth
03 Polished & checked Hand-polished to a high gloss and quality-checked against your trial smile before we even open the box.

Your veneers journey

Five stages. Two to three weeks. Decades of brilliance.

01

Consultation & Smile Design

We listen, examine your teeth, take photos and 3D scans, then design your new smile around your face — not a stock template.

02

Minimal Preparation & Trial Smile

Only the smallest amount of enamel is gently prepared — far less than traditional veneers. We then sculpt your trial smile directly onto your prepared teeth using temporary composite, so you can see, photograph, and live with the proposed design before any porcelain is made.

03

Review Trial Smile

You come back in to review your trial smile together. We discuss what you love, what you'd like to refine, and make any small adjustments — to shape, edges, length or shade. Once you've approved the design, the information is sent to our master ceramist to craft your final porcelain veneers — an enhanced replica of the smile you already test-drove and loved.

04

Fitting & Reveal

Your bespoke porcelain veneers are carefully bonded into place. We refine every detail — bite, shape, polish — until the result is exactly right. You walk out with the smile that was designed for you.

05

Aftercare

A follow-up review to confirm everything is settling well, plus clear maintenance guidance for the long term. Properly cared-for porcelain veneers last 10–15 years, often longer — and of course we're here over the long term whenever you need us.

Preparation, honestly

We preserve every bit of healthy tooth — no shaving down to pegs.

Most clinics quietly leave this part out. We won't. Modern porcelain veneers are designed to be ultra-conservative — typically only fractions of a millimetre of enamel are reshaped, and only where it's actually needed to seat the veneer accurately. In some cases, no preparation is needed at all.

Dr. Albert preserves every bit of healthy tooth structure he can. Where teeth are already worn, broken, or in poor condition, slightly more preparation may be necessary to deliver a healthy, lasting result — and everything will be discussed with you at your consultation.

Where the difference lives

Not all veneers are the same.

Composite, porcelain, or offshore — each has a place. Here's where the real difference shows up: in the craft, the lifespan, and the relationship after the fitting.

Smile Rooms Windsor Porcelain Veneers Smile Rooms Windsor Composite Bonding Overseas Fast-fix clinics
Material Hand-layered medical-grade porcelain — multiple shades, lifelike translucency Tooth-coloured composite resin Pre-formed acrylic shells, often imported
Crafted by Master ceramist, hand-finished one veneer at a time Hand-sculpted in-clinic by Dr. Albert Mass-produced in offshore lab
Tooth preparation Minimal — fractions of a millimetre, often less in most cases None — composite added on top of enamel Aggressive — substantial tooth structure removed
Treatment time 3 visits over 2–3 weeks Single visit 1–3 days abroad, no follow-up
Lifespan 10–15 years, often longer 5–8 years Frequent failure within 12–24 months
Aftercare After-treatment review to ensure you love your new smile, 2-year material warranty After-treatment review, 1-year warranty, repairs charged separately No UK-based aftercare available

A word from your dentist

Great veneers shouldn't look perfect — they should look alive. Layers of ceramic, subtle texture, even tiny imperfections. That's what makes a smile feel real, not built. The goal is never the smile that announces itself. It's the smile that just looks right on you.

Want to know more?

Common questions, straight answers.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10–15 years, often longer. The ceramic itself is highly stain-resistant and won't discolour like natural enamel.

Do veneers look fake?

Not when designed properly. Dr. Albert works with master ceramists who layer multiple shades and add subtle natural texture, so each veneer mimics the translucency and imperfection of real enamel. The goal is a smile that doesn't announce itself as work.

Will my teeth be shaved down?

Modern porcelain veneers require very little to no tooth preparation if your teeth are healthy and straight — typically a fraction of a millimetre, often less. We always preserve as much natural enamel as possible, and discuss the exact plan with you before any preparation begins.

How many appointments do porcelain veneers take?

After your initial consultation and smile design, typically 3 appointments over 2–3 weeks: minimal preparation with your trial smile, a short review of the trial to refine and approve the design, then the final fit of your porcelain veneers.

Is the process painful?

Preparation is done under local anaesthetic, so you won't feel discomfort during the procedure. Most patients report only minor sensitivity for a day or two afterwards.

Can I choose how white my veneers are?

Absolutely. We work with you to select the perfect shade — from a subtle, natural brightening to a more dramatic Hollywood look. Your face shape, skin tone, and personal style all factor in.

How much do veneers cost?

Porcelain veneers are from £950 per tooth. A single front porcelain veneer, crown or bridge is from £1,350 — single-unit work on a front tooth requires extra precision to match the colour, character and translucency of the neighbouring teeth. Every treatment is bespoke, and the number of teeth needed will be discussed at your consultation. 0% finance is available.
